ROAD TRIP to UTAH

Each summer, I set aside some time to go back home to Utah. I have decided to make the drive down the last couple of years instead of flying home. This year I drove first to Yakima where I was able to spend some time with my awesome mission companion, Hermana Sarah MacDonald Mugleston and her cute family. She has a great husband, Brady, and two beautiful little girls, Mya and Sophie. It was fun to see them and to catch up a bit. I then went to see my good BYU friend, Becky Emhoff, and her family. She also has an awesome husband, Matt, and three cute little ones, Jacob, Marcus and Sienna. Becky is also really into coupons and saving lots and lots of money at the grocery store. She showed me some of her tricks-of-the-trade and I am planning to implement them so I, too, can save money. :) I stayed the night at Becky's home and then the next day I drove down to Boise, Idaho. Tara and Dave (see pictures above) are living there now so I made the stop for the night. We drove around Boise and had dinner at a fun little outdoor cafe. I have to admit that I never have given Boise the credit that it deserves. After a night on the town, I came to realize that it is a cute little city...much more than I thought it was. It was way fun to be with Tara and Dave and to see some of their fun pictures from their honeymoon. I was their first guest since they have been married! :) The next day, I made the trek to Layton, Utah where my mom lives. It was a fun road trip and I am so glad that I broke it up the way that I did so that I could see all of these fun friends. Thanks to everyone for your hospitality. I seriously do have the greatest friends around! :)

Food Storage...I am Doing It! :)

I have been putting this off long enough...I have always told myself that when I got married it would be a perfect time to start my food storage. I changed my mind. I have recently moved into a family ward, which I love, and one day decided to go to the Bishops Storehouse with some of my friends in the ward. This is what I came away with...not to mention the great feeling I got when I thought that I was tangibly following the counsel of the prophet! :)

Take Me Out To The Ballgame!!!

I organized a group of my friends together and got tickets for all of us to go see the Mariners play ball. Every summer, they set aside a couple of group nights for the LDS fans. I went last year with mom and so it was fun to do it this year again with some of my fun friends!

Catching Up!

Since the last post that I did was about the 4th of July, I wanted to assure you all that I am totally aware of the fact that it is now OCTOBER!!! Please BE PATIENT as this site is undergoing changes...and trying to catch up with the rest of us! :) I promise...the wait will be worth it!

Happy Independence Day!!!

This year, I celebrated the 4th of July TWO times. Once in Eatonville, a small little town at the foot of Mt. Rainier, and the other time at Sara Diem's, my friend who lives on the banks of the Puget Sound. It was a great time filled with food, friends and fun! Who could ask for anything more? Oh...and just in case you were curious, the Puget Sound firesides were much better...we were able to see about twenty shows at the same time! Plus, it was over the water! Mt Rainier, on the other hand, is spectacular and I LOVE it!!! Overall, it was a great weekend!!!

Dave and Tara's Wedding Day

On June 11, 2009, my best friend, Tara Johnson, married David Nielsen in the Mt. Timpanogas Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This was a day that we had waited for for a really long time. Dave and Tara had been friends for seven years before they finally tied the knot. This day was so special and I am so grateful that I was able to be a part of all of it! The ceremony, the luncheon, the dinner and everything in between...including the rainstorm (which I have been told brings lots of luck on your wedding day). I am so happy for you, Tara! I love you guys!!!
